Founded in 2007 by Cindy Gallant, Hollywire is an entertainment news website covering the latest in television, film, music, fashion, and young celebrities. In just three
years, Hollywire has morphed into a must-read entertainment news source, featuring exclusive content of various actors, artists, and celebrities.
The beauty and brains behind the site are the "Hollywire Girls", who attend the hottest Hollywood events, from fashion shows to red carpets, and get behind-the-scenes access to some of today's most watched shows and films. The HOLLYWIRE Girls are not in the business of breaking stars down; instead, they seek to tell the truth and produce original articles, interviews and videos. Their "Good Girls of Gossip" attitude has been rewarded by some of the best event promoters and publicists in Hollywood, who trust only Hollywire to get inside coverage of their events.
We caught up with Cindy Gallant, Executive Editor (left), and Chelsea Briggs, Entertainment Writer and Producer, to gain some insight into the glamorous world of entertainment blogging!
Six Apart: There are thousands of entertainment blogs out there, what sets Hollywire apart?
Chelsea: I really think that what sets us apart is our focus on exclusive content and videos, as well as our relationships with other websites. Sharing content, building online communities, and working together with people and sites that share your interests is a great way to increase your site’s presence, and have a really positive experience!
Six Apart: You’ve experienced fantastic growth in a very short amount of time; what would be your advice for a site that wants to have a stronger online presence?
Cindy: Every site does have its own unique content, and it’s incredibly important to find your own voice. It’s also really helpful to build strong relationships with your peers!
Six Apart: What are your thoughts regarding our new reporting system, AMP?
Cindy: I liked the easy to read graphs—I like to be able to quickly views our CTRs & deliveries. It’s good for us to be able to see which ad units are performing the best so we can optimize ad placements in our future site designs or think about moving ad placements around within current design.
